VSEDC Honors BCIF President, Robert Lewis

In September, the Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC) invited BCIF President Robert Lewis, their 2022 Black History Month honoree, to dine with Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager in recognition of his incredible contribution to the SoCal African American community. 

Founded in 1979 by Marva Smith Battle-Bey, VSEDC opened its doors in 1981 via the Vermont-Slauson Shopping Center groundbreaking. Forty years later, VSEDC has evolved from a grassroots organization into an “established anchor institution delivering economic resources to communities that often live in the shadows.”
